The liberal capitalists at the Guardian never accepted Jeremy Corbyn as Labour leader. They wanted some bland neoliberal 'centrist' like Yvette Cooper running the show, and when they didn't get their way in 2015 they spent the next five years endlessly trashing and smearing Corbyn, the Labour left, and the Labour Party membership, thus helping keep the Tories in power.

And they're not even happy with having finally achieved their objective of ousting Corbyn, so now they're intent on gaslighting everyone with absolute nonsense pretending Keir Starmer is the "British Bernie Sanders".

Sanders is a genuine democratic socialist who has consistently stood with ordinary people and the oppressed against the interests of corporations and the mega-rich.

Sanders and Corbyn's track records of left-wing activism extend all the way back for decades.

Back in 2015, during the Labour leadership election the 'centrists' running the party tried to whip Labour MPs into abstaining on the biggest and cruellest package of social welfare cuts in British political history.

Corbyn and about 50 others rebelled to vote against George Osborne's vicious £12 billion economic assault on the poorest and most vulnerable people in society.

Keir Starmer shamed himself by abstaining (which he has eventually apologised for).

Anyone who thinks Bernie Sanders would have wilfully sat on his hands as instructed like Keir Starmer, rather than standing up for the poorest people in society like Jeremy Corbyn did, is either so politically illiterate that paying them to produce political content is an absolute joke, or they're knowingly trolling their audience by creating headlines that are so infuriatingly wrong that they generate huge numbers of rage shares.

Either way, this headline is a perfect illustration of what an absolute bin fire the Guardian's political commentary has turned into.
